TRI-CHAPTER MEET OF THE NORTHLAND, ILLINOIS AND WISCONSIN CHAPTERS
SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS

This year, the great Tri-Chapter Meet of the Illini, Wisconsin & Northland Chapters invaded Illinois' Capital City, Springfield.

The group gathers outside of an historic gas station museum in near downtown Springfield, Illinois.  Truly, this was an interesting place for young and old alike, as evidenced in the picture.
Following the historic filling station tour, our group caravanned to Oak Ridge Cemetery and the Abraham Lincoln tomb.  R.F. Parson's 1969 Superior Cadillac "Chicago" ambulance stands out in its red and black paint scheme.
Our next stop was the Museum of Funeral Customs, located just outside the gates of Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.  Hundreds of funeral artifacts were on display, including this late 1800s mosque-top, 8 column horsedrawn hearse from Warner Funeral Home.
Also on display was this refurbished "casket wagon."  In the background you can make out some of the other funeral antiques displayed in the museum.
Four combination coaches ready for whatever the funeral director needed them for!
No meet is complete without the requisite "hotel parking lot" photograph.  Our photographer and the vehicles were happy to oblige the custom!
Larri Dirks' 1976 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Duplex Combination is suited for funeral service work by having its four demountable beacons demounted and the landau panels affixed to the landau windows.
The Goethes of Ellisville, Missouri were the short-distance attendees, having traveled a mere 100 miles to Springfield for the Tri-Chapter Meet.  This is their 1969 M-M Cadillac Classic Limousine Duplex with Federal "Hill" light, ambulance panels, and those elusive Crucifixes in the door windows.
