2001
SPRING EXTRAVAGANZA AND CAR SHOW
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA

It was kind of a gloomy day at the Gopher Chapter of the Buick Club of America's show with clouds overhead, however with the exception of a few rain drops, the weather cooperated.
Enjoy the photos!  - Jeff Stanton

GopherBuickShow2001a.jpg (24780 bytes) 1st Place  It was no surprise that this beautiful 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine got first place.
GopherBuickShow2001b.jpg (20572 bytes) I wish he would have opened at least one of the back doors so we could see inside!  The dark tint blocked the view. The front was all stock.
GopherBuickShow2001c.jpg (28990 bytes) 2nd Place This of course is not  a professional car, but at this annual event the fire truck, squad car and pro car classes were all so small, that last year they grouped them all under the class "Professional Car".  This fine vehicle is owned by PCS member John Bucholz. Yep, that's a working radar gun!
GopherBuickShow2001d.jpg (41888 bytes) 3rd Place This 1949 Cadillac Limousine Street Rod took 3rd place.  Many parts were original, but most of it had been customized.  That engine is totally encased in a chrome housing.  The owner said he found it cools better.
GopherBuickShow2001e.jpg (36766 bytes) The back of the 1949 Cadillac. The fine upholstery and woodwork was amazing.  Check out the pop up seats!
GopherBuickShow2001f.jpg (31244 bytes) 1964 Cotner/Bevington Oldsmobile Combination.
GopherBuickShow2001g.jpg (23984 bytes) Tony Karsnia's 1978 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Classic Limousine Duplex Combination.
GopherBuickShow2001h.jpg (29194 bytes) Jeff Stanton's 1974 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Criterion.
GopherBuickShow2001l.jpg (26582 bytes) 1973 Superior Pontiac Combination.
GopherBuickShow2001i.jpg (18574 bytes) Jeff and Tony opened up their rigs for the public to see.
GopherBuickShow2001j.jpg (33164 bytes) This School Bus was not even in our class, but I saw something interesting on it.  See the picture below to see what I mean.
GopherBuickShow2001k.jpg (25327 bytes) The Pro-car parent company WayneCo. made school busses as well as professional cars.  So I guess this bus would be a distant cousin!.
