George Quast
Hutchinson, Minnesota

1915 Northwestern Studebaker hearse

That’s George sitting behind the wheel of this beautiful antique hearse, and the photo he’s holding is of his grandfather, John Quast, who purchased this hearse brand-new. George says "I get such a wonderful feeling when I drive this hearse, knowing that my grandfather used it proudly in his funeral business."

By the way, the Northwestern Casket Company is still in business today at 17th and Jefferson in Northeast Minneapolis, the very same building they were in back in 1915!

1939 Meteor LaSalle Gothic carved-side hearse

George Quast is very proud to display the beautiful vintage hearses once used by his father and grandfather, who were in the funeral business in Hutchinson and Buffalo Lake, MN. This is George’s 1939 Meteor LaSalle carved funeral coach on display for the first time in many years. The photo seen on the running board of the coach is George’s father, Walter Quast, who bought this beautiful hearse brand new!
