Preserving the World's Professional Car History™ since 1989. |
The Northlanders pulled off the incredible feat of having a sunny, 40 degree day in February for their first meet of the year. On Saturday, February 7, 2009 there were 17 Northland Chapter members in attendance at the meet at Baines Professional Vehicles in Ramsey, MN, for a great, informative meet. A delicious potluck lunch was provided by Northland Members and Tony Karsnia brought a picture cake celebrating the 20th birthday of the Northland Chapter. Several scale model professional cars were on display including 1/18, 1/43 and 1/64 size, plus books and other artifacts. Since we were at a professional car dealership, there were 10 full-size professional cars on display, spanning 45 years from 1964-2009. Alan Clark, the Cadillac-LaSalle Club's chief photographer for their international meets, gave a very interesting presentation on proper photography of cars. Joe & Trudy Klein showed a video of their ambulance restoration, Jon Baines took us back to the 1980s with a video (VHS, not beta!) of the 1985 Limousine Show, and Dennis Goethe showed a DVD of Pierce Brother's "Perfect Remembrance" video made in 1943 of their operation, including shots of Henney Packard limousines, hearses, and sedan-ambulances in action. For additional photographs, see Kevin Kocur's smug mug album. ~CLICK THE PICTURES FOR THE LARGER VERSION~ THE
